New capabilities deliver cloud-native modeling, AI-powered policy management, and an expanded library of QuestAI assistants, giving modern data teams a single, governed foundation for analytics and AI initiatives — from data structure to data access

AUSTIN, Texas – May 13, 2026 – Quest Software, a global leader in data management, cybersecurity and platform modernization, today announced two major releases to the Quest Trusted Data Management Platform, the industry’s only unified, end-to-end SaaS platform for trusted, AI-ready data. Building on the Automated Data Product Factory, the transformative new capability introduced earlier this year, the platform’s new AI-powered capabilities deliver innovative technology for modern data teams with the release of Quest Data Modeler, a cloud-native data modeling tool, and Quest Data Intelligence, which expands the library of AI assistants spanning governance, lineage, compliance, data products, data quality, and natural-language access to governed data. To learn more, visit: quest.com/data-management-platform

Most organizations stitch together separate data modeling tools, governance suites, and AI assistants, leaving them with multiple naming definitions, broken audit trails, and AI assistants running on ungoverned data. Quest Data Modeler and Quest Data Intelligence, working jointly within the Quest Trusted Data Management Platform, eliminates that fragmentation, giving customers a trusted, reliable experience with a shared understanding of their data. Data modeling establishes the logical definition and naming standards, and data governance keeps those standards consistent across the platform creating consistent business terms wherever data is consumed. QuestAI assistants speak the same language to every user. The result is one platform, one audit trail, and one shared understanding of data from how it is structured to how it is consumed.

”Trusted data is the backbone of any modern AI strategy, and our continued innovation is helping organizations turn AI ambition into real business value – with lower risk, higher accuracy, and the trusted data that makes faster AI deployment possible”, said Michael Laudon, Chief Product and Technology Officer, Quest Software. “At the pace we’re all moving in the AI era, trust can’t be tacked on after the fact – it has to be baked in from the start, or AI initiatives stall. That’s why we designed the Quest Trusted Data Management Platform with multiple entry points, each aligned to different stages of enterprise data and AI maturity, so we can meet our customers where they are. Some organizations are just beginning to address data visibility and quality; others are operationalizing governance and lineage to meet regulatory and risk requirements; and the most advanced are managing data as a product making it continuously trusted, reusable, and scalable for AI, analytics, and automation. By adding AI-powered data modeling and data intelligence, we are providing organizations with a first-of-its-kind solution that spans the entire data lifecycle, and helps them achieve trusted, AI-ready data faster – no matter where they are in their journey.”

“The bottom line is, there is no trusted AI without trusted data, and there is no trusted data without sound data modeling. That is where it all begins,” said Rocky Creel, Executive Director, JP Morgan Chase. “Fragmented data landscapes, inconsistent definitions, and manual processes slow everything down and erode confidence in what we deliver downstream. Quest Software’s data modeling solutions give us the rigor and consistency we need at the foundation through well-defined structures, shared semantics, and governed designs that every downstream capability can build from. When your models are right, governance, lineage, and AI readiness follow. That’s why Quest’s continued innovation in data modeling is so critical in helping to build a scalable, trusted, AI-ready data ecosystem.”

Across every industry and organization, data teams are dealing with fragmented, untrusted data that limits their AI readiness, accelerating regulatory compliance, and disparate tools and definitions that erode trust in data product outputs. Existing solutions have provided support for one of these problems, whereas the Quest Trusted Data Management Platform addresses all three within a single offering, and is built for how modern data teams work. With Quest Data Modeler and Quest Data Intelligence, the Trusted Data Management Platform now governs the two layers that matter most in the modern data stack – how data is modeled, and how data is governed. No other solution covers both in a single offering.

Quest Data Modeler is purpose-built for modern data stacks and to eliminate the trade-off between legacy tools that lack modern collaboration, and lightweight SaaS-enabled tools that lack governance. Drawing on Quest’s leadership in data modeling, it combines AI-powered data modeling with enterprise-level governance in a single offering, delivering real-time collaboration, governed business definitions, and standard naming across hybrid and cloud environments including Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, and others. Quest Data Modeler capabilities include:

  • AI-Assisted Modeling, a natural-language interface that generates and refines models, suggests consistent naming conventions, and accelerates delivery through proposal-and-review workflows. Modeling cycles now drop from weeks to hours without sacrificing the audit trails that organizations require.
  • Real-Time Collaborative Modeling allows data architects, analytics engineers, business analysts, and data stewards to work in a single live workspace, with comments and discussions handled directly in the modeling workspace to eliminate siloed work.
  • Enterprise Model Repository delivers a centralized Mart repository with model locking, version history, multi-user conflict resolution and controlled change management, giving data teams the rigor required for large, multi-team programs and a governance infrastructure that other cloud-native modelers don’t have.
  • Full-Stack Modeling includes conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling in one place with visibility across every layer, ensuring that “customer” and “revenue” mean the same thing across every team, dashboard and AI system.
  • erwin Heritage and Hybrid Coexistence giving the tens of thousands oforganizations that rely on existing erwin investments now can migrate assets, maintain hybrid workflows, and move to the cloud at their own pace, giving them the ability to protect decades of modeling discipline without starting over — a path no cloud-native competitor can match.

Quest Data Intelligence builds on Quest’s history of unmatched and proven data intelligence and governance capabilities, infusing AI-driven innovations to directly help organizations deliver trusted, AI-ready data at the speed and scale modern AI demands while reducing regulatory risk. Quest Data Intelligence capabilities include:

  • AI-Powered Policy Manager delivers governance that keeps pace with regulation instead of chasing it. This feature generates policies directly from some of the most stringent regulatory frameworks – including the EU AI Act, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) AI Risk Management Framework and GDPR, with real-time policy enforcement at the point of data access, delivering a policy-as-code approach backed by continuous compliance monitoring and full audit trails.
  • Expanded QuestAI Assistant Library builds on the QuestAI Stewardship Assistant and helps organizations develop business glossaries up to 75 percent faster and onboards new data sources up to 10x faster. New assistants now span glossary and ownership, data lineage, compliance, data products and data quality.
  • Universal Semantic Assistant provides natural-language access to governed, trusted insights powered by Quest’s semantic layer, closing the persistent gap between business questions and the technical data that answers them.

MDSap Tech, a Quest Platinum Partner and SAP Gold Partner within the Midis Group ecosystem, brings more than 30 years of experience helping organizations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa modernize data management, analytics, and digital transformation strategies. “Quest Software is taking a strong step forward with the latest evolution of data modeling, making it more collaborative, accessible, and efficient. The Quest Data Modeler has the potential to significantly broaden participation beyond traditional technical users, enabling business users to play a more active role in the modeling process, which is hugely important for all organizations,” said Ömer Akgül, Technology and Analytics Solutions Manager, MDSap Tech. “This new offering can bring organizations substantial benefits, including improved alignment between business and IT, faster iteration cycles, and more accurate representation of business needs. The integration of AI-powered capabilities stands out as a key enabler, helping to simplify complex modeling tasks and accelerate productivity.”

Tecnet Dati has more than 30 years of experience as an IT consulting firm offering services across AI, advanced analytics, data governance and management, and more, and is a Quest Platinum+ Partner. “The user interface is much lighter, while still providing the substance and core functionality to someone that might not be as experienced with data modeling,” said Renato Comes, Sales and Marketing Director, Tecnet Dati. “With integration with the Mart repository, this will allow implementation of a hybrid environment where downstream consumers who are less technical can build the models to meet their business needs, while modeling teams can refine them from a more in-depth standpoint. It builds a modelling ecosystem of collaboration, speed and scale.”

Breakthrough offering is the market’s first platform that unifies Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR) with secure migration, delivering visibility into non-human identities and always-ready disaster recovery for Microsoft environments

AUSTIN, Texas – April 14, 2026 – Quest Software, a global leader in data management, cybersecurity, and platform modernization, today released the Quest Security Management Platform, the market’s first unified, AI-powered platform for Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR) and secure Microsoft identity modernization. The Quest Security Management Platform unifies identity threat detection, recovery, and secure migration into a single platform, and includes new innovative identity security and resilience capabilities, providing organizations with AI-driven visibility into non-human identities and always-ready disaster recovery capabilities. This unified approach addresses a rapidly changing threat landscape driven by AI adoption, non-human identity growth, and hybrid infrastructure expansion. Now organizations have a single platform to manage risk from AI agents, protect hybrid Microsoft identities from AI-led attacks, recover quickly from incidents, and modernize legacy Microsoft identity systems without increasing exposure. To learn more, visit https://www.quest.com/security-management-platform

Identity has become the primary attack surface, yet many organizations rely on security offerings providing only detection controls and limited recovery options. High-risk moments of change, such as migrations and mergers and acquisitions, further expose critical gaps in threat prevention, security and recovery readiness. AI is accelerating both the scale and sophistication of attacks, and non-human identities now outnumber human identities by an estimated 82:1 ratio. Quest Software’s annual State of ITDR research shows that more than 75 percent of global organizations do not test identity recovery frequently enough, leaving them vulnerable to potential attacks that could cost millions of dollars in business downtime and recovery.

“AI fundamentally threatens the identity landscape at a level never before seen, and one thing is clear – identity security must include rapid recovery, not just detection and response,” said Michael Laudon, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Quest Software. “The Quest Security Management Platform delivers solutions that address how identity risk actually occurs within organizations – across daily operations, active attacks, and during high-risk moments of change such as AI adoption amid migration and modernization. By unifying our industry-leading solutions into one modern platform, customers no longer need multiple solutions to protect their most important assets.”

The Quest Security Management Platform features two new capabilities that extend Microsoft identity protection and recovery via Quest Identity Defense and Quest Identity Recovery, giving customers ongoing security, resilience, and recovery in one solution.

  • Quest Identity Defense: An AI-powered, hybrid Active Directory and Entra ID security solution that continuously identifies identity risk, blocks unauthorized changes to critical Tier 0 assets and instantly contains attacks. AI-driven analysis gives organizations expanded visibility into Active Directory across human and non-human identities, simplifying investigation and remediation. With clear visibility and observability across human and non-human identities, organizations can investigate, respond, and remediate threats with simplicity and speed.
  • Quest Identity Recovery: A hybrid Active Directory and Entra ID recovery solution that rapidly restores identity services up to 90 percent faster after ransomware attacks, and now features Standby Active Directory Forest provisioning. This new feature automates the creation of always-ready recovery environments and enhances Quest’s market-leading Active Directory disaster recovery capabilities.

Quest’s new platform also includes On Demand Migration, which is a Microsoft 365 certified tenant-to-tenant migration solution that secures and simplifies consolidation of Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams, as well as Active Directory and Entra ID.

By unifying prevention, detection, response, recovery, and modernization on a single platform, Quest aligns with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework 2.0, and Gartner recommendations. This approach removes reliance on fragmented tools, giving organizations a clear path to managing identity risk in the real world. The Quest Security Management Platform organizes its capabilities into two solutions designed to simplify how organizations secure, recover, and modernize their environments.

  • Quest Secure Migration: An end-to-end solution that modernizes identities, devices, tenants, and workloads with a security-first approach, reducing exposure during critical business operations.
  • Quest Identity Security and Resilience: A complete ITDR solution, controlling the full identity attack lifecycle, improving time to response, minimizing downtime, and reducing risk.

Quest Software’s new unified Security Management Platform builds on Quest’s experience defending the most critical identity assets across Active Directory and Entra ID. Quest has more than 25 years of experience in modernizing Microsoft platforms, has moved more than 200 petabytes of data, and is the first company to achieve Microsoft 365 Certification for its migration capabilities. Quest delivers resilience throughout the attack lifecycle, automates recovery 90 percent faster, and improves mean time to response by 44 percent, saving millions of dollars in downtime costs. Gartner listed Quest Software as an example vendor in multiple categories in its 2025 report, “A Well-Run Active Directory Requires Strong Identity Controls.”

Survey of 650 global IT and security leaders reveals that fewer than one-quarter of companies test disaster recovery every six months, and 24 percent never test their plans at all

AUSTIN, Texas – March 9, 2026 – Quest Software, a global leader in data management, cybersecurity, and platform modernization, today released findings from its annual global security survey examining how organizations approach Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR). The State of ITDR survey was completed by 650 top global IT and security executives and practitioners about their approach to ITDR amid a rise in AI-driven attacks, an increase in non-human identities, growing recovery risk, new and changing regulatory environments, and managing expanding attack surfaces. The survey found that more than 75 percent of organizations are not practicing disaster recovery plans in the recommended six-month timeframe, while 24 percent state they never practice it at all. To access the full Quest Software report, The State of ITDR, visit quest.com

Identity has become the primary attack surface, and the sprawl of identities across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments have expanded organizations’ need to better protect their environments. This has created complications with the rise of AI-led attacks, including model theft, automated attacks, poisoning data, and more leading to a 57 percent increase in security incidents linked to AI usage, according to a Microsoft study. The rapid growth of non-human identities has frequently outpaced visibility and guidance, making it even more difficult for organizations to manage identity security, with an estimated 82:1 ratio of machine identities to human identities.

The Quest Software survey revealed four key findings:

  • Only 24 percent of organizations test disaster recovery every six months, as recommended, with another 24 percent stating they never test their plans.
  • 79 percent of those surveyed are confident that AI tools can improve ITDR effectiveness.
  • In a multiple-choice selection, 51 percent of respondents said that non-human identities were the most difficult to secure, with 49 percent claiming third party and partner accounts, 47 percent stating service accounts, and 46 percent saying legacy systems, highlighting the expansion of identity areas to secure.
  • 78 percent of respondents said that proactive threat management was the main driver for implementing ITDR.

Quest’s annual ITDR survey revealed that since last year, more organizations now have an ITDR practice in place, with 57 percent of respondents saying they did compared to 48 percent a year ago. Similarly, there was an increase in organizations receiving benefits from ITDR, with 92 percent agreeing to the benefits of an ITDR practice, compared to 84 percent in last year’s survey.

“Our survey findings make one point abundantly clear: identity security challenges are broad, interconnected, and steadily growing,” said Michael Laudon, Chief Product and Technology Officer, Quest Software. “Identity systems are at the center of most environments, connecting users, applications, data, automation, and cloud services. When those systems are compromised, attackers gain immediate access and, in many cases, control over how quickly an organization can respond and recover. Many organizations still lack full visibility into their identity landscape and struggle to manage expanding workloads across hybrid environments, and most teams are not validating recovery often enough to ensure rapid restoration after an attack.”

Quest’s survey findings reveal that many organizations are putting too much confidence in preventative controls, but are not as focused on response and recovery readiness. This area remains an opportunity for modern ITDR programs. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework provides guidelines, best practices, and standards designed to help organizations manage and reduce cybersecurity risks by providing a common language and flexible approach to improve security posture. The NIST Framework focuses on six core components – identify, protect, detect, respond, recover, and govern – to help companies enhance their cybersecurity programs. Gartner’s recent guidance in its 2025 report, “Enhance Cybersecurity and Resiliency by Extending the Discipline of ITDR“, advises organizations to adopt the NIST Framework.

Quest Software defends the most critical identity assets across Active Directory and Entra ID, delivering resilience throughout the attack lifecycle, automating recovery 90 percent faster, and improving mean time to response by 44 percent, saving millions of dollars in downtime costs. Gartner listed Quest Software as an example vendor in multiple categories in its 2025 report, “A Well-Run Active Directory Requires Strong Identity Controls.” Quest’s portfolio of ITDR solutions empowers organizations to enhance their security infrastructure by reducing risk, protecting Microsoft-based hybrid identity infrastructures, and responding to threats quickly.

The vast capabilities of the Automated Data Product Factory open up exciting opportunities to accelerate and improve the scalability of our company.”

The Quest Trusted Data Management Platform provides the industry’s first transparent and explainable trust scoring system featuring a nine-component trust score framework. The nine-component system quantifies data trustworthiness across data quality, user ratings, governance completeness, timeliness, lifecycle, popularity, and more. The scores are customizable and embedded directly into the platform, giving organizations confidence to act on data without second-guessing. With data drift detection that continuously detects any underlying data changes with automatic trust score updates, organizations can operate with confidence.

Beyond the benefits of delivering AI-ready data products at speed and scale, Quest’s unified platform further enables enhanced productivity and cost savings by delivering data products with high reusability, saving companies significant cost – potentially millions of dollars in cycles of reinvention and rework. Now, analysts and data scientists will spend less time reinventing data products for one-time use, and more time generating insights, delivering more value to any organization. Further, every data product created by the Quest Trusted Data Management Platform is automatically enriched with governance context including lineage, business terms, policies, and quality signals from its inception.

“As more and more companies look to make AI successful for them, they are desperately in need of tools that unify solutions, save time and money, and of course, are trusted,” said Edwin Vargas, Managing Director, Americas – AI Business Solutions and Security Partnerships, Microsoft. “The Quest Trusted Data Management Platform, and the Automated Data Product Factory that it features, breaks down silos, removes the need for multiple tools, and delivers something all companies will find worthwhile – and that is data gold. We’re thrilled that the Quest Trusted Data Management Platform runs on Microsoft Azure and is available to customers in the Microsoft Marketplace. This is a monumental moment in SaaS offerings, and we’re fortunate to have had such a long partnership with Quest Software.”

Gartner recently provided direction to the industry stating in its Market Guide for Data Management Platforms that “organizations can save up to 50% on costs and operations efforts through converged platforms.” This is because, according to Gartner, “on average, organizations have deployed a dozen data management solutions with overlapping functionalities, and they lack architectural flexibility,” and that with a converged platform, companies “can use the technology in this emerging market to reduce silos, and to augment their data for current and innovative use cases.” With this release, Quest is now delivering capabilities that Gartner predicts will become mandatory for data management platforms by 2028.

Quest’s Partner Program is evolving to further recognize the full value partners bring to the customer journey. The company is developing deeper engagement with partners who build, sell, and service solutions to create a collaborative channel ecosystem. The Quest Trusted Data Management Platform creates an opportunity for channel partners to help customers ensure long-term AI success.

AI-powered identity security with deep Microsoft integration

Quest continues to evolve Security Guardian, its hybrid Active Directory and Entra ID security and audit platform, to help customers improve identity threat detection, containment, and response while mitigating risk of downtime and exposure. The latest release adds AI-powered security assessment summaries within Security Guardian Intelligence, helping organizations understand and act on risks faster. Currently, teams lacking deep Active Directory expertise are overburdened with alerts and spend hours manually researching and scripting responses, while uncontrolled access rights and misconfigurations leave critical assets and data exposed. Now, companies can instantly generate an AI-written, one-page executive summary in Security Guardian that highlights key security findings, surfaces critical risks, and prioritizes remediation actions, making it easier to communicate results and justify budget or resources for remediation.

During Ignite 2025, Quest announced that the Security Guardian Agent for Microsoft Security Copilot is now available on the Microsoft Security Store, making it easier for organizations to leverage AI-driven security insights. Security Guardian seamlessly integrates with Microsoft Security Copilot and Microsoft Sentinel, and complements Microsoft Defender for Identity, giving organizations unified, cross-platform visibility and actionable threat intelligence.

Quest’s Security Guardian, when combined with Microsoft Security Copilot, Microsoft Sentinel, or Microsoft Defender for Identity, helps organizations detect, prevent, and remediate identity threats across the full attack lifecycle. By adding machine-speed prevention to Microsoft’s detection and alerting capabilities, Security Guardian stops attackers before they can compromise critical assets, reduces time-to-remediation, and enables security teams to prioritize the most urgent threats, closing the loop from alert to action.

These new features continue recent AI-enabled capability releases to the Security Guardian platform, including Security Guardian Audit, a cloud-native audit and compliance solution, and support for non-human workload identities in Microsoft Entra ID. Together with Quest Disaster Recovery for Identity, these solutions protect the full identity lifecycle – from rapid detection and response to recovery up to 90 percent faster, saving organizations millions of dollars in downtime costs. And, earlier this year, Quest announced enhancements to Security Guardian Intelligence, which reduces investigation time to act faster on identity threats.

AI-powered and Microsoft 365 Certified modernization

Quest Software has supported some of the largest and most complex migrations across the Microsoft ecosystem, moving more than 200 petabytes of data – including more than three billion chat messages – while maintaining reliability and operational continuity. Quest is also the first company to achieve Microsoft 365 Certification for its migration capabilities, helping organizations modernize Microsoft identities with confidence.

Modern and secure identities are the foundation for trusted data and, ultimately, successful AI projects. To achieve that foundation, companies need to migrate data securely and reliably with 92 percent of Quest customers stating that security is a primary driver for modernization.

Today, Quest announced Identity Modernization Suites, delivering the first end-to-end Microsoft identity modernization platform that combines migration capabilities with security, audit, backup and recovery into a single, integrated solution. This new comprehensive platform – available in three tiers – reduces customers’ risk when moving from legacy on-premises environments to the cloud by combining industry-leading migration tools with essential safeguards and pre-migration risk assessments, and secure backup and recovery, laying the foundation for AI transformation.

Following the recent preview of Microsoft Power Apps discovery, Quest is also offering a preview of Microsoft Power Automate discovery during Ignite 2025. Quest’s On Demand Migration capabilities will be further strengthened with this expanded coverage to Microsoft Power Platform workloads, bringing a single, unified platform to assess and migrate all workloads within Microsoft 365 tenants. This streamlined approach reduces complexity, eliminates the need for multiple migration tools, and provides visibility across all workloads – critical for customers and partners managing complex integrations, divestitures, or large-scale digital transformation initiatives.

Advancing Quest’s erwin Data Management Platform

While at Ignite 2025, Quest showcased its erwin Data Management Platform, the only converged data management platform that allows organizations to model, manage, and govern data consistently across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The erwin Data Management Platform is a unified, seamless, and automated data management platform, which helps enterprises and public sector agencies improve data accuracy and create trusted, reusable data products 54 percent faster than before.

New capabilities in Security Guardian, erwin Data Management Platform, and On Demand Migration advance Quest’s new company strategy for secure, trusted, and modern foundations for customers to achieve AI success

MINNEAPOLIS – September 30, 2025 – Quest Software, a global leader in data management, cybersecurity, and platform modernization, today announced AI-enabled capabilities to its Security Guardian, erwin Data Management Platform, and On Demand Migration solutions at The Experts Conference (TEC) 2025, the annual gathering for IT and security professionals tackling identity, compliance, and AI challenges. Together, these releases continue to deliver on Quest’s new company strategy, introduced earlier this month, by addressing three critical challenges customers face to unlock AI success: trusted AI-ready data, secure identities, and platform modernization to scale with AI demands. To learn more, visit quest.com.

At TEC 2025, Quest Software is putting its new strategy in action with AI-enabled innovation across all three of its priority areas for customers to unlock AI success. The latest updates to Security Guardian, erwin, and On Demand Migration better support enterprises and public sector agencies to conquer new identity security threats, data uncertainty, and migration hurdles to build the foundation for successful AI.

“Every organization wants to move faster with AI, but they’re hitting the same roadblocks: identities they can’t control, data they can’t fully trust, and outdated platforms they can’t rely on,” said Heath Thompson, Chief Product Officer, Quest Software. “With these advancements in three foundational priorities for AI readiness and success, Quest is removing those barriers, AI-enabling our broad product suite, and ensuring our customers’ success so they can move AI projects from pilot to production with speed and confidence. On top of that, our partnership with Microsoft is longer than any other identity-focused independent software vendor, and we have been named Partner of the Year six times – helping show our capabilities in migration and modernization projects, a key part of AI readiness for customers.”

“We’ve seen an incredible wave of technology advancement in a short time due to the rapid growth of AI,” said Alex Simons, Corporate Vice President, Microsoft Entra, Microsoft. “Companies are looking to reinvent their business and are using agent identities and Microsoft Entra ID to secure and govern their data confidently and be able to move ahead using a new set of capabilities. Partners like Quest Software, with deep domain experience in Microsoft identity modernization, are invaluable in helping manage the transition to cloud-native identity and broader AI adoption.”

Closing the Non-Human Identity Gap with Security Guardian

Organizations are struggling to govern non-human identities as agentic AI and cloud adoption accelerates. According to estimates, non-human identities outnumber human identities by as much as an 80:1 ratio, and this rapidly growing identity attack surface has created an increase in attack opportunities, resulting in security challenges and compliance risk.

Quest is launching new features for Security Guardian, its identity threat detection and response (ITDR) platform powered by generative AI (GenAI). Security Guardian’s new AI-enabled capabilities improve Active Directory and Entra ID security, and proactively protect critical identities from compromise, preventing threats before they escalate. The new features include:

  • Workload Identity Audit and Detection for Microsoft Entra ID which allows Security Guardian customers to benefit from enhanced visibility and protection for Entra ID service principals and workload identities, identifying over-privileged or exposed accounts with remediation guidance.
  • Security Guardian Audit which is a new cloud-native audit and compliance solution that brings the strengths of Quest Change Auditor into the cloud, offering faster and easier deployment, and long-term retention without the need for on-premises SQL databases. This feature provides in-depth auditing, reporting, and monitoring needed for today’s regulatory compliance requirements.

These enhancements build on the recent launch of Security Guardian Intelligence, which reduces investigation time to act faster on identity threats without deep Entra ID or Active Directory expertise. Together with Quest Disaster Recovery for Identity, this extends protection across the full attack lifecycle, from rapid detection and response to Active Directory and Entra ID recovery that is up to 90 percent faster, saving millions of dollars in downtime costs.

Building Trusted Data Models with GenAI in Quest’s erwin Data Management Platform

Quest is continuing to rapidly innovate its recently launched erwin Data Management Platform, announcing new GenAI capabilities for customers to deliver trusted data products at speed and scale, helping organizations meet the critical needs of AI. The erwin Data Management Platform is a unified, seamless, and automated data management platform which helps enterprises and public sector agencies improve data accuracy and create trusted, reusable data products 54 percent faster than before.

Previously announced GenAI capabilities in erwin help companies accelerate data catalog and business glossary development, critical components that establish the foundation and governance frameworks necessary for trusted data products. Quest is now adding AI-assisted data modeling, where users can enter prompts and automate workflows for faster delivery of more accurate data products, and at lower cost. New capabilities to the platform include:

  • Automated model generation to turn natural language requirements into production-ready models, providing up to a 30 percent faster time to market compared to traditional starter model development.
  • Industry-specific AI model frameworks to deliver sector-ready modeling patterns for compliance-heavy industries faster than before, accomplishing weeks of requirement collection, regulatory research, and design work in days.

Quest’s continued innovation on the erwin Data Management Platform is delivering a consistent cadence of GenAI updates to provide advantages for every role building trusted data products – from data stewards to data modelers to data architects – ensuring customers can work at the speed and scale to thrive in the AI era.

Security teams can now act faster on identity threats with plain-language insights, attacker context, and step-by-step remediation guidance.

Austin, TX, 16 July 2025Quest Software, a global leader in securing critical IT infrastructure, modernising Microsoft and database environments, and driving data readiness for AI, today announced the global release of Security Guardian Intelligence, a generative AI enhancement to its Security Guardian identity threat detection and response (ITDR) platform. Built specifically for hybrid Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID environments, the update helps organizations reduce investigation time and act faster on identity threats—even without specialized AD expertise.

“Security Guardian Intelligence doesn’t just detect identity threats—it explains them with business or board-level context,” said Heath Thompson, President and Chief Product Officer at Quest. “It gives teams a faster way to prioritize real risk and take action, without needing to interpret every technical detail manually.”

Why It Matters: Identity Threats Are a Top Risk

Security and IT teams are under pressure. Identity-based attacks are growing fast, and downtime from Active Directory issues can cost over $730,000 per hour. But teams are still slowed down by alert overload, disconnected tools, and a shortage of AD specialists.

The longer it takes to contain identity threats, the higher the impact. A successful ransomware attack can shut systems down for an average of 23 days, crippling operations and extending recovery timelines.

Security Guardian Intelligence (SGI) closes that gap with three high-impact capabilities:

  • Plain-language threat summaries: Turn raw AD findings into readable insights anyone can understand
  • Mapped attacker behavior: Tied to MITRE ATT&CK tactics and real-world breach scenarios
  • Built-in remediation: Follow step-by-step resolution guidance with no scripting or escalation required

“We support customers across industries who are drowning in identity alerts but lack the in-house expertise to act on them,” said Eric Aslaksen, General Manager of Security and CISO at ivision. “Security Guardian already gives visibility – SGI adds the context and speed they’ve been missing. By helping surface what matters and guiding the response, it’s shaping up to be a valuable tool in our identity security toolkit.”

 Legacy Platforms Can’t Keep Up

Unlike legacy platforms still anchored in on-premises architectures and now retrofitting AI features, Quest built Security Guardian for the cloud from day one, ready for modern identity environments and real-time use of Generative AI.

Where traditional on-prem tools often struggle to operationalize large language models (LLMs) due to performance and infrastructure limitations, Quest’s architecture enables secure, real-time application of LLMs across live identity telemetry, without workarounds or bolt-ons. The result is faster insights, better context, and more scalable threat response.

Cloud-Native by Design. AI-Ready from the Start

SGI is embedded directly into Quest’s cloud-native platform and purpose-built for Active Directory and Entra ID environments. It uses a click-to-context model that takes users from an identity alert to the business impact and recommended fix in a single step. SGI doesn’t just summarize log data, it analyzes live signals, maps them to real-world attacker behavior, and delivers clear guidance to act, even without a senior identity specialist on the team.

Built-In at No Extra Cost.

Security Guardian Intelligence is now available to all existing Security Guardian customers at no additional cost.

It also integrates seamlessly with other Quest solutions across its Cybersecurity & Resilience portfolio, including enterprise backup and disaster recovery, endpoint protection, and 24/7 incident response, making it easier to protect most critical assets at every stage of the attack lifecycle.
